Cabana Mini-Suite

The typical inside cabin on the new Discovery Princess measures 166 square feet, with some as big as 175 square feet. By comparison, the typical balcony cabin on Discovery Princess measures 181 square feet, not including a 41-square-foot balcony (for a total of 222 square feet). The California-based brand was a pioneer in adding a large number of balcony cabins to ships, and even its oldest vessels are loaded with balcony cabins — something that can't be said for many of its rivals. Princess offers a selection of staterooms that provide full wheelchair-turning space. In addition, these staterooms include a roll-in shower equipped with grab bars and a fold-down bench seat, an easy access closet and accessible writing desk.

Guests will also have the option to cancel and receive a full refund of the cruise fare. We currently are booked in a Vista Suite on the Sky in December. I'm considering "moving down" several decks to a FWD Premium for the separated sleeping area & extra TV.

Sky Suite Perks

On Princess Cruises, Club Class Mini-Suites gives you the perks of a Suite, at a lower price. Most people would say that Club Class is worth it because your Mini-Suite will be in a great location on the ship, you’ll enjoy exclusive Club Class Dining and priority boarding and debarkation. They are absolutely huge, with a 1,000-square-foot balcony offering 270-degree views. You’ll be looked after by a Suite Experience Manager are will receive lots of free perks like access to The Enclave spa, VIP seats in the theatre and meals served on your balcony if you wish. Still, you'll find at least a few suites of a decent size on every Princess ship. The line's seven Grand Class vessels each offer two "family suites" at their fronts that can be created by connecting a mini-suite with an adjacent inside cabin to create a six- to eight-person complex.

She has worked in the cruise industry since 2015 and has taken over 30 cruises. Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays. Princess Cruises Suites come with so many perks and plenty of room to relax. Many cruisers say that once they enjoy the benefits of a Suite, they never want to go back to the standard accommodation classes. If money is no question and you want the best suite on the ship, then there’s no question – you have to go for a Sky Suite. However, these are only available on the newest ships and there are only a couple on each ship, so you’ll need to book early to secure your place.

Their minds stay busy, too, with California Science Center programs like rocket building, or they can explore outer space with Stargazing and learning how to build a model roller coaster. Exciting events like talent shows, theme nights, and treasure hunts encourage new friendships and family togetherness. Even the littlest guests will delight in this whimsical, forest-themed world that inspires playtime and invites exploration.

The cheapest Mini-Suites, however, are just a small upgrade from a balcony room. The latest Celebrity vessels, for instance, offer so-called Iconic Suites that have twice as much interior space as the Sky Suites. The takeaway here is that you'll have an easier time locking down a balcony cabin on a Princess ship — even an older Princess ship — than you will when booking many of the ships operated by competing big-ship lines. On the flip side, Princess offers relatively few suites on its ships compared to some of the big-ship lines with which it most directly competes, including Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean. Just 46 of the 1,830 rooms on the line's recently unveiled Discovery Princess are suites, for instance.

Priority Access

You get the same Princess suite benefits as a regular Mini-Suite, but with access to the Cabana Deck on the ship too, which is a private area for Cabana guests. First, let’s look at the different types of suites that you can book on a Princess cruise. Then, we’ll take a closer look at the upgraded amenities and perks that you get with each so that you can decide if a suite is worth it. With an ocean-view cabin, you get a window looking out to the sea, but not an attached balcony where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Inside cabins on Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas, for instance, measure just 149 square feet — quite a bit less than the inside cabins on Discovery Princess. On any Princess ship, they are almost always the least-expensive option when you're booking a cabin.

Suite staterooms include a spacious cabin and large 114 to 181-square-foot balcony, along with special suite-only benefits. All Suites include a separate seating area with a sofabed, walk-in closet, full bathroom and deluxe amenities. You are entitled to Club Class Dining which is anytime dining in a section of one of the DR's. On the Sky believe it is Estrella DR, deck 6 mid ship starboard side entrance.

Every Princess ship is a destination in itself with wide-ranging amenities, elevated culinary experiences and delightful activities. Below you'll find the deck plans, stateroom details, ship dining information and more for every vessel in our fleet. Visit the links, and get to know what we offer and what makes the Princess experience unique.

We have been stopping in every 5 days or so and leave being disappointed. The suite perks are minimal if you are already at the Elite tier. As an elite tier in a club class mini suite the perks are nominal. I wish they'd bring that back now that they have the online ability. The Cabana stateroom features a balcony, a private cabana, unique outdoor furniture and an extra-large private lounge space that lets you take in the fresh sea air.

Pre-shutdown the DR was open each day for breakfast and dinner and for lunch on sea days. As a full suite passenger you can also have the mimosa breakfast which is better than Club Class. Full suite passengers are also permitted to order room service off the full DR menu. Princess's three newest ships — Discovery Princess, Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess — have the line's first truly large standalone suites, dubbed Sky Suites.

It’s no surprise The Shops are awarded “Best Onboard Shopping” from Porthole magazine year after year. On board, you’ll find a fabulous range of fine merchandise from brands like Swarovski, Chanel, Estée Lauder, Clinique, Lancôme, Calvin Klein, Citizen and Tissot, plus local crafts, keepsakes and souvenirs. And everyday tax- and duty-free savings can add up to as much as 30% off suggested U.S. retail prices.
