Margaret Louise DeLaney was born on July 13, 1947 to James and Opal Pace in Huntsville, Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in the Class of 1965. She married Jesse James DeLaney, and to their union, they had one daughter, Nicole. Margaret worked for the Region VI Education Service Center as a Librarian. She moved on to work for the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.
